JOB FUNCTION:       Responsible for injection molding setup, starting to understand injection molder processing and introduction to process trouble shooting.  Needs to be efficient and timely in setups with the ability to work safely.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Working knowledge and use of hand and power tools.
  • Perform set-up and cleaning operations for injection molders, robotics, and related production equipment. Repair as needed. Advise supervisor of any major issues.
  • Understand the mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of all manufacturing and related production equipment. Advise supervisor of major issues and other duties as assigned (i.e., work orders, predictive maintenance, rebuild parts, etc.).
  • Willingness to be trained in welding, plumbing, hydraulics, and electrical activities.  As well as training opportunities in automation, robotics programing and processing.
  • Assist in the development of production aids.  Offer ideas and suggestions for improving production operations.
  • Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean department and work environment. Leaving your work area cleaner than when you found it.
  • Requisition of supplies/equipment. Develop an understanding of identifying, locating, and signing out required parts from inventory.
  • Follow safety rules and procedures including PPE, emergency procedures and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Learn how to perform work orders, predictive maintenance, and rebuild parts.
  • Perform overtime as requested to cover business needs.

EXPERIENCE:

Demonstrated a mechanical aptitude using hand and power tools. Willingness to learn.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Able to take directions and follow through with all details, mechanical and schematic reading ability and / or the willingness to learn.  Electrical, plumbing, welding and machine repair experience are preferred.  Good verbal communication skills are required.  Frequent contacts and discussions are required with all levels of management and employees.  Must be able to work under pressure and complete work according to deadlines with minimum supervision.  Flexibility, diplomacy, and initiative are necessary.  Basic math skills are required with basic computer skills being preferred.  The ability to read detailed instructions and keep legible and accurate records is required along with good organizational skills.  Teamwork is necessary.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

Hand and power tools, forklift, electrical test devices, computer, and crane.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently/100 pounds occasionally is required. Ability to move around in a manufacturing environment.
